The Yorkshire Junior
Grasstrack Club was founded over twenty years ago to develop the sport of
motorcycle grass track racing for riders aged between 6 and
17 years. Race meetings take place throughout the April to October season at our track in Upper Cumberworth,
near Huddersfield.
With a long and proud tradition of introducing young riders to the sport, many of today's most outstanding grass track and speedway riders have raced with the club. Names which include Joe Screen, Carl Stonehewer,
and 1992 speedway World Champion, Gary Havelock
were all regular competitors during the early
part of their racing careers. |
|
The club is non-profit making and is run purely
for the benefit of our young riders. We have
race classes for both grasstrack and motocross
bikes. Parents
participate by assisting with track building,
marshalling, catering and the scrutineering of
motorcycles. Our meetings are characterised by a
friendly, relaxed atmosphere where youngsters of
all ages share the common interest of motorcycle
grass track racing.
I hope you will visit one of our race meetings soon.
